Job Description
The Financial Advisor in the Ameriprise Advisor Center (AAC) is a team based position responsible for engaging existing non-engaged clients or prospects in a financial planning relationship and managing ongoing relationships with engaged clients. The Financial Advisor deepens client relationships through a comprehensive advice based relationship and/or a needs-based selling approach leveraging financial planning tools. Responsible for recommending and selling products and services to clients.

Financial Advisor

Develop and deepen relationships with clients and prospects via the telephone.  This includes developing rapport and driving a needs-based discussion to engage clients in an effort to understand their short- and long-term financial needs.  Leverages financial planning tools to provide comprehensive advice to clients and prospects based on financial needs.  Recommends suitable products from streamlined list of product solutions leveraging the Product Specialist as needed.  Acquires, retains and develops assets of existing clients.

Manage work/time to optimize client interactions.  Includes: preparing for calls to clients, placing outbound calls to existing clients/prospects or setting and holding regular (quarterly) meetings with current clients, gathering and documenting information to ensure compliance requirements are met, facilitation of appropriate business processes and the monitoring of interactions and next steps.

Engage in on-going professional development to increase industry, product, sales and servicing skills and abilities.  Maintain all appropriate FINRA/other licenses and requirements up to date.

Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- 1-3 years financial services experience
- Current FINRA Series 7
- State securities (S63 or S66), state IAR (S65 or S66) (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
- Must have or obtain Minnesota Life, Accident and Health and Variable Contracts Insurance license within 30 days of hire date.
- Proficient in financial services products/services.
- High level of confidence, perseverance, and a strong desire to achieve.

- Demonstrated ability to display and maintain a highly professional demeanor consistent with Ameriprise values and brand.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
