The Lead Accounting Analyst role is a major contributor to the establishment of significant accounting policies and internal controls.  This role is primarily a consultative role, working directly with business unit management and accounting leadership to ensure accounting implications are identified and understood. 
This role is integral in reviewing significant agreements (revenue, procurement and similar arrangements), assisting with the annual goodwill impairment analysis, providing support for occasional acquisitions/divestitures and other ad hoc requests.  This role is also responsible for the review of certain period end deliverables prepared by other team members as well as assisting with the preparation of audit committee, BOD and other documents used in internal and external communications.  Lastly, this role Responsible for the execution and overall monitoring of the SOX program, working with process owners in evaluating potential deficiencies and monitoring of remediation plans, and generally being a resource for process owners and other individuals within the SOX process.

  • Review of Sales / Procurement / Lease and other Contracts – Review of large and unusual contract for accounting implications.   This includes partnering with the business unit’s sales & marketing, contract management and accounting teams as well as facilitating reviews and approvals of corporate controller, CFO and others.
  • Revenue Recognition – Responsible for the revenue recognition accounting for certain revenue transactions which involve multiple-element arrangements, bundled pricing, rebates and incentives and software revenue recognition considerations.  This will be a comprehensive role in the revenue recognition process involving contract reviews, performing sales price analysis for allocating revenues for multiple element arrangements, analyzing and calculating timing adjustments including general ledger-related responsibilities, balance sheet account reconciliations, and create policies and procedures for proper revenue recognition application.
  • Other Projects & Technical Accounting Review – Responsible for preparing and reviewing the annual goodwill impairment analysis and other ad hoc accounting matters
  • SOX Oversight and Testing – Responsible for the execution of the SOX Plan each quarter and overall monitoring of the SOX program.  This includes preparing the annual scoping assessments, ensuring SOX roles are performed by appropriate personnel, coordinating role changes and maintenance of the SOX Sharepoint site and working with process owners in evaluating potential deficiencies and monitoring of remediation plans, and generally being a resource for process owners and other individuals within the SOX process.
  • Month-End / Quarter-End Close & Financial Reporting – Primarily responsible for the reviews of other team members deliverables and preparation of certain items.  On a quarterly basis, also responsible for evaluating passed adjustments and potential out of period items and assisting with the preparation of audit committee, board of director and other documents used in internal and external reporting.
  • Support the Finance & Acctg departments during all audit engagements including external and internal audits.

Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s in accounting or finance

Experience: 5+ years of experience with 3+ years in public accounting

  • Strong organization skills; Comfortable with significant change and ability to adapt

  • Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization
  • Efficient modeling capabilities and advanced knowledge of Excel with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to documentation and process improvement for assigned areas
