Mechanical Drafter Internship
at Emerson Electric Co.
As a Mechanical Drafter you will be responsible for creating 2D drawings from fixture CAD models and assemblies of a variety of small fixtures and custom built manufacturing equipment. Other work will include managing drafting work backlog spreadsheet, and completing our ECO process for drawings. Work requests can vary from quick turn-around to project work, and work instruction will vary from verbal instructions to working from redlined engineering drawings. Project work will give you opportunities to participate on project teams with Engineers and production support personnel improving our manufacturing processes by using your skills in fixture design and CAD to help create safe and reliable fixtures. Skills required for Drafting work include proficient use of Creo3 (Pro-Engineer).
Knowledge of Auto CAD Electrical
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
Knowledge of sheet metal design
Ability to learn and manage fixture drawing ECO process
Knowledge of machining
If the candidate has right skill set may ask them to occasionally run:
CNC lathe or VMC
Saw, shear, manual Lathe or Mill
Education: A two year technical degree or enrollment in Mechanical Drafting program.
Experience: Zero years Experience
