This position reports to the RTG Supply Chain Finance Manager and is responsible for developing processes, financial models and frameworks that enable better business decisions.
This role is responsible for reporting and analysis related to SOGL and Supply Chain operations cost centers. Includes monthly performance tracking against established metrics / targets and reporting of financial results to key stakeholders and business partners. This position also provides financial business partnering support to various Operations teams and Business Units across RTG, supports Operations strategic initiatives, and various continuous improvement activities.
A Day in the Life
Responsible for monthly close process and reporting for assigned area; includes preparation of month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations, analyzing results, identifying issues, and explaining trends and variances to plan and forecast
Provides AOP and forecast support to BU / management reporting and analysis related to SOGL on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Validate and load data into Medtronic financial systems as part of month end, forecasting, and AOP processes.
Performs excess / obsolete inventory reserve assessments and proactively identify areas of risks and opportunities
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with internal Medtronic policies and GAAP
Performs ad hoc projects, analyses, reporting, and tasks as required.
- Responsible for providing Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / financial support to assigned cost centers in a timely manner
- Provide monthly financial reporting and analysis to cost center / department managers to help them understand key drivers of variances and resolve planning / forecast issues or opportunities as they arise
- Provide management reporting to track overall project spending and provide performance metrics across ongoing improvement initiatives
- Responsible for ensuring cost center compliance with internal corporate accounting policies (GAAP) and key business practices
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
4 years of Finance or Accounting experience w4ith a Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of Finance or Accounting experience with a Master's Degree
Nice to Have
- Medtronic business unit experience
- Experience with GFSII, Essbase, Spend, and SAP
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude
Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities
Strong quantitative analysis and problem solving skills
Solid accounting (GAAP), financial and business management foundation
Proficient in Microsoft Office package (Excel - including use of macros and lookup tables, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong organizational skills
High degree of initiative and self-motivation
Ability to interface in a team environment with various levels of management
