    Position Overview

    The successful candidate will be an individual who will be committed to the equitable education of all students. He or she will have a strong background in instruction and assessment practices, and will focus on ensuring the learning and achievement of each student.

    Primary Responsibilities
    Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

    This teacher must be able to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of students with a wide range of learning needs. He or she will also work to develop curriculum and establish and maintain a safe and professional teaching and learning environment. The successful teacher will also regularly collaborate with peers in leadership and learning communities within the school and district.

    We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with students. Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning as evidenced by graduate-level work or an earned degree, as well as participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area.


    The successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and current Minnesota State Licensure in Chemistry or Biology (with a desire to get a Chemistry license) Science Education. Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students; creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with secondary level students using differentiation, guided reading, and technology skills preferred. Prefer candidate with experience working with diverse learners.

    Licensing Requirements
    Current Minnesota Chemistry license or eligibility is required.
